There was a regularly scheduled election for insurance commissioner in 2015. James Donelon (R) was eligible for re-election. The primary election took place on October 24, 2015.
Despite there being four candidates on the primary ballot, incumbent Commissioner James Donelon won a majority of votes, eliminating the need for a general election contest in November.
