Louisiana New Orleans Civil Service Commission Amendment (1987)

The Louisiana New Orleans Civil Service Commission Amendment, also known as Amendment 5, was on the ballot in Louisiana on November 21, 1987, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that St. Mary's Dominican College be removed from the group of private institutions of higher learning that nominated individuals for the New Orleans civil service commission. The member who would have been nominated by St. Mary's would be replaced by an individual nominated by the employees of the city of New Orleans.[1]
