L. Gale Buckner is a magistrate for the Murray County Magistrate Court in Georgia. She was appointed to the court on October 2, 2012, filling a vacancy left by former Murray County chief magistrate Bryant Cochran.[1] She was re-elected in 2014.[2]

General: She defeated Dwayne Hooper in the general election on May 20, 2014, receiving 59.0 percent of the vote. [2]

Education

Buckner holds a master in public administration from Brenau University, a bachelor of science in urban life from Georgia State, and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy.[1]

Career

Before his appointment to the court, Buckner was a commissioner of Georgia’s Department of Juvenile Justice.[1]
