There was a regularly scheduled election for agriculture commissioner in 2015. James Comer Jr. (R) was eligible for re-election but ran for governor. The primary election occurred on May 19, 2015, and the general election took place November 3, 2015.

Incumbent Commissioner James Comer Jr. (R) chose to run for governor instead of seeking re-election. Fellow Republican Ryan Quarles defeated his Democratic opponent, Jean-Marie Lawson Spann, in the 2015 general election.[1]
