I am a Christian wife, mother of 7 children and 18 grandchildren. I have a vested interest in protecting our traditional conservative values. We raised our children on our family farm in Egin Bench, near St. Anthony.I graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2011 with a Bachelor degree in Psychology. I drive school bus for Fremont School District and as a spud harvest truck driver. I served in the Idaho Legislature 2017-18 and 2020-21.
  • Communication is key! I keep citizens informed through email updates and social media. I answer emails and calls.
  • Transparency. When people are informed about bill proposals and current issues they are more apt to be engaged.
  • Constitutional principles. I am committed to the principles of the U.S. Constitution and the Idaho Constitution. I also support the Idaho Republican platform.
Parental and individual rights, including second amendment rights and reducing regulations and taxes.
President John Kennedy's assassination. I was very young, but I remember my mother was very sad.
McDonald's. I don't remember how long.
I have many favorites! I love the stories of the Bible. I also think Atlas
Shrugged is prescient of our present government control.
Not necessarily. If an individual has a foundation of understanding Constitutional principles and can handle the criticism, not bowing to special interests, big business or lobbyists, he or she can serve. These individuals are often the best elected officials.
Former State Representative JoAn Wood of Rigby, who served 32 years with integrity.
A bill brought to me by a constituent. Already individuals have contacted me about protecting property owners from "squatters." I talked to a local sheriff who thinks we need better laws. I don't go to Boise to pass alot of bills. I respond to constituents' needs

A fourth-generation Idahoan, Karey and her family make their home in Egin, Idaho. Karey holds an associate's degree in education from Ricks College and a bachelor's degree in psychology from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She previously served as a Republican member of the Idaho House of Representatives from 2017-2018. Karey and her husband, Burke, are the happy parents of seven children and 14 grandchildren.
  • I'm an honest, hardworking Christian wife and mother who will continue to work to preserve our traditional family values.
  • I am Pro-Life, Pro-2nd Amendment and Pro-Liberty
  • I believe the proper role of government is to protect the basic rights of individuals--the best government is that which governs least.
Getting back to a free market economy with less taxation and regulation.
Protecting and preserving our traditional family values, including the 1st amendment and freedom of religion.
I can work as a team and independently. Both are important in serving the people in my area of the state.
I have so many books I have enjoyed--no way to pick just one.
The continued assault on family values. We can fight to lower taxes and fund schools, etc., but when our families, the basic unit of society suffer, the rest of our issues become more serious.
I served on the Health & Welfare, Judiciary & Rules, and the Agriculture committees in 2017-18. Agriculture is very important in our district and I would especially desire to serve there again.
Former Rep. JoAn Wood served honorably for 32 years in the Idaho House. She is a great example of keeping her values throughout her service. She was not swayed by lobbyists and stayed true to her principles. She continues to mentor others today, including me!
No. I like serving close to the people in my community and believe I can be an influence for good in that capacity.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Idaho

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.

Click here for an overview of legislative scorecards in all 50 states.  To contribute to the list of Idaho scorecards, email suggestions to editor@ballotpedia.org.
