Kansas Attorney General election, 2010
The Kansas Attorney General election of 2010 was held on November 2, 2010. In 2008, incumbent Stephen Six whad been appointed by Governor Kathleen Sebelius to fill the term of Paul Morrison, who had resigned in the wake of a sex scandal.[1] He sought election to a full term in the 2010 general election.
Republican challenger Derek Schmidt overcame Democratic incumbent Stephen Six and Libertarian Dennis Hawver. Schmidt garnered 54.9 percent of the vote to Six's 41.9 percent and Hawver's 3.2 percent.

Debate
September 23rd
On Thursday, September 23rd, the Wichita Crime Commission (WCC) hosted the first debate between all three candidates in the state attorney general contest at the Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant.
October 19th
The Kansas Association of Broadcasters (KAB) sponsored the second debate between the two major party candidates in the race for state attorney general - Republican Derek Schmidt and Democratic incumbent Stephen Six - located at the Airport Hilton. Highlighted topics included immigration, teen tobacco use, texting while driving and women in the judiciary.

Survey USA, under contract with a local news station in Kansas, surveyed 882 registered voters about all the statewide races on the ballot in November; of these, 588 were deemed to be likely voters. Survey USA did not use live call center employees, but rather an automated system in which taped questions were asked via a professional announcer; the respondent was then invited to press a button on their phone or record a message indicating their selections.
