Jeffrey McClain is a former Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing District 87 from 2009 to 2016. He resigned from the state House on October 2, 2016, to take a position as director of tax and economic policy for the Ohio Chamber of Commerce.[1]

McClain did not seek re-election to the Ohio House of Representatives in 2016 because he was term-limited.

Biography

McClain earned her B.B.A. in accounting from Tiffin University. His professional experience includes serving as the Wyandot County Auditor for over 26 years.[2]

The candidate filing deadline was December 16, 2015. Incumbent Jeffrey McClain (R) resigned from the state House on October 2, 2016.

Wes Goodman ran unopposed in the Ohio House of Representatives District 87 general election.[3]

Elections for the Ohio House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 5, 2014. Jeffrey Lehart was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Jeffrey McClain was unopposed in the Republican primary. McClain defeated Lehart in the general election.[6]

McClain won re-election in the 2012 election for Ohio House District 87. McClain defeated Dennis E. Sterling in the March 6 Republican primary election and defeated Jeff Lehart (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7][8]

On November 4, 2008, McClain won election to the Ohio House of Representatives.[12][13] He defeated Wanda Sharrock (D) and Mark Smith (I) in the general election.[14]
