James DeAnda (1925-2006) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

DeAnda was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Jimmy Carter on February 13, 1979, to a new seat created by 92 Stat. 1629; he was confirmed by the Senate on May 10, 1979, and received commission the next day. From 1988-1992, he served as the chief judge. He served the Southern District of Texas until his retirement on October 1, 1992.[1]
