|Japneet Singh has a humble background - a son of immigrants from Punjab, India, Japneet moved to Queens at the age of 1 and spent his entire life in the district. He attended New York public schools from K-12. He earned his masters in accounting at Queens College, where he discovered his love for public service during his tenure as student body president and passing landmark budget allocations ensuring halal and kosher meals were available for all students, and freezing tuition. His commitment to public service continued afterwards, distributing meals to those in need, and being at the forefront of the response to the recent rash of anti-asian hate crimes in the district. Japneet is a community-focused fighter for all the communities of Senate District 15.
- Unity, representation, and inclusion.
- I want to bring much needed resources to underserved communities
- I want to help reform Public Education with a new Specialized High School in Southeastern Queens, and to expand the Gifted & Talented program
I am passionate about Education, Public Safety, Housing, Immigration, and Government Transparency.
Primarily, the polarizing nature of it's politics. Our biggest individual issues lie in our fractured education system, and in our public safety.
