Janet Waugh
Janet Waugh (Democratic Party) was a member of the Kansas State Board of Education, representing District 1. She assumed office in 1999. She left office on January 10, 2023.
Waugh (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Kansas State Board of Education to represent District 1. She won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Biography
Waugh's experience in education prior to her election to the board includes time spent in state and regional offices as part of her work with the Parent-Teacher Association and the Kansas Association of School Boards. Waugh spent 15 years as a member of the Turner USD 202 Board of Education and was the board's president for eight of those years. Waugh worked at a used car dealership but had retired as of 2017.[1]

Waugh was first elected to the board in November 1998 and took office in January 1999. In her time on the board, Waugh has been elected to two separate two-year terms as chairman; once in January 2003 and again in January 2009.[1]
