John T. Doyle was a judge for the Superior Court of Los Angeles County in California. He was appointed by former governor Gray Davis in 2001.[1][2]

On July 2, 2009, Judge Doyle caused a traffic collision while driving his vehicle under the influence of alcohol in Los Angeles.[2]

On October 6, 2009, following a plea of no contest, Judge Doyle was convicted in the Los Angeles County Superior Court of driving with a blood-alcohol level of .08% or more, in violation of Vehicle Code section 23152, subdivision (b).

Due to the unlawful action and disregard of the principles of personal and official conduct embodied in the California Code of Judicial Ethics and failure to respect and comply with the law, the Commission voted to impose a public admonishment on Judge Doyle.[4]
