Jonathan Katchen is an attorney in private practice with Holland & Hart.

On April 12, 2018, Republican President Donald Trump nominated Katchen to a seat on the United States District Court for the District of Alaska.[1] Katchen withdrew his nomination in July 2018, citing uncertainty about whether he would make it through the confirmation process.[2]

Education

Katchen received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and his J.D. from the University of Hastings California, College of Law.[1]

Professional career

At the time of his nomination, Katchen was in private practice with Holland & Hart. He previously practiced with Crowell & Moring LLP. He also previously served as the Intergovernmental Coordinator for the State of Alaska’s Department of Natural Resources, Special Assistant to the Attorney General of Alaska, and Assistant Attorney General in the Oil, Gas & Mining Section. Following law school, he served as law clerk to Judge Maryanne Trump Barry on the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit.[1]
