Harry Kalodner
Harry Ellis Kalodner (1896-1977) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 3rd Circuit and on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Kalodner passed away on March 15, 1977.
Third Circuit
Harry Kalodner was nominated by President Harry Truman on May 21, 1946 to replace Charles Jones on the Third Circuit. He was confirmed by the Senate on July 25th of that year, and received commission on July 27th. From 1965 to 1966, he was the chief judge. On October 3, 1969, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on March 15, 1977.[1]
Eastern District of Pennsylvania
Harry Kalodner received a recess appointment from President Franklin Roosevelt on July 6, 1938 to replace Albert Maris on the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. On January 5, 1939, he was nominated. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 30th, and received commission on May 4th. He served on this court until September 3, 1946.
