Edward T. Barfield was a judge on the Florida First District Court of Appeal.[1] He was appointed to this position in February of 1984. He was retained by voters in 1986[2], 1992[3], 1998[4] and 2004.[5] He retired on December 31, 2009.[6]
Education
Edward Barfield was born on January 15, 1943 in Pensacola, Florida. He received an A.A. degree from Pensacola Junior College in 1961 and an A.B. degree from Davidson College in 1963. He received his law degree from Tulane University in 1966. He is married with three children.[1]
Career
Edward Barfield was an attorney for the Escambia County School Board. He began as a private practice attorney with the law firm Reeves, Barfield & King in 1969. In 1980, he became a judge on the Florida First Judicial Circuit, where he served until his appointment to the Court of Appeals.[1]
