Dick Hughes is a judge on the Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas in Pennsylvania. He was elected in 2011 and his term expires in 2022.
Education
Hughes earned his undergraduate degree from Lafayette College. He earned his masters from Oxford University’s prestigious Magdalen College Legal Studies Program. He earned a law degree from the Washington and Lee School of Law.[1][2]
Career
Hughes has served as the District Attorney’s office since 1988 and has worked in private practice since his admission to the bar.[1][2]
2011 election
Hughes received 6.5 percent in the Democratic primary and 10.6 percent of the vote in the Republican primary.[3] He was elected in the general election on November 8, winning 13.4 percent of the vote.[4]
