Dianne T. Renwick is a judge for the 1st Department of the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division. She assumed office in 2008. Her current term ends on December 31, 2029.

Renwick (Democratic Party) is also a judge of the New York Supreme Court 12th Judicial District. Her current term ends on January 1, 2030.

Education

Renwick received her bachelor's degree from Cornell University in 1982 and her J.D. from Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1986.[1][2]

Career

Renwick began her legal career in 1986 as a staff attorney for the Criminal Defense Division of the Legal Aid Society. In 1989, she began working in the organization's Federal Defender Services Unit for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. She held this position until March of 1997 when she was appointed judge of the New York City Housing Court. That November, she was elected to the New York City Civil Court. In November of 2001, she was elected to the supreme court, effective the following January. She sat in the civil term of this court until her designation to the appellate division in 2008 and was involved in the Individual Assignment (IAS), Mental Hygiene, Article 81, Foreclosure and Tax Certiorari Parts.[1]
