Note: On October 24, 2012, David R. Eisenhour suspended his campaign, announcing instead that he would run for clerk of the peace in Sussex County.[1]
Primary
Incumbent Karen Weldin Stewart (D) was up for re-election as Delaware Insurance Commissioner. She was first elected in 2008. The primary election took place on September 11.
Note: Vincent White (D) withdrew from the race on March 18, 2012, endorsing Mitch Crane.[2]Jim Van Houten (R) was a candidate but did not file to appear on the ballot.
