David Novstrup (b. February 2, 1983) is a former Republican member of the South Dakota State Senate, representing District 3 from 2015 to 2017.[1]

Novstrup did not seek re-election to the South Dakota State Senate in 2016.

Novstrup served in the South Dakota House of Representatives, representing District 3 from 2006 to 2015.

Biography

Novstrup earned his B.S. in business from Northern State University in 2006. His professional experience includes working as a page for the South Dakota State House of Representatives in 2002, at Walt Disney World as an intern in 2004, as an intern for the South Dakota State House of Representatives in 2005 and as the general manager/owner of Wylie Thunder Road.[2]

Elections for the South Dakota State Senate took place in 2016. The primary election was held on June 7, 2016, and the general election was held on November 8, 2016. The candidate filing deadline was March 29, 2016. Incumbent David Novstrup (R) did not seek re-election.

Al Novstrup defeated Cory Heidelberger in the South Dakota State Senate District 3 general election.[3][4]

The general elections for the office of South Dakota State Senate took place on November 4, 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 25, 2014. Mark Remily defeated Angela Schultz in the Democratic primary. David Novstrup was unopposed in the Republican primary. Novstrup defeated Remily in the general election.[7][8][1]

Novstrup won election in the 2012 election for South Dakota House of Representatives District 3. Novstrup ran unopposed in the Republican primary on June 5 and won election in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[9]

Novstrup ran for re-election to one of two seats in District 3 of the South Dakota House of Representatives. Also running were fellow incumbent Dennis Feickert (D), Tim Even (D) and Isaac Latterell (R). Dennis Feickert (D) and David Novstrup (R) won election in the November 2 general election.[10]
