Daniel L. Squadron is a former Democratic member of the New York State Senate, representing District 26 from 2009 to 2017. He resigned his seat on August 11, 2017, to focus on helping Democratic candidates in state level races across the nation. [1]

Squadron previously represented District 25 in the state Senate from 2009 to 2013.

Squadron earned his bachelor's degree from Yale University. His professional experience includes working as a Communications Director for the Transportation Bond Act, as the co-author of Positively American: Winning Back the Middle Class Majority One Family at a Time and as an aide to U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer.

Elections for the New York State Senate took place in 2014. A primary election took place on September 9, 2014. The general election took place November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was July 10, 2014. Incumbent Daniel Squadron was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Wave Chan was unopposed in the Republican primary. Manny Cavaco was removed from the ballot before the Working Families Party primary. Squadron also ran on the Working Families Party ticket. Squadron defeated Chan in the general election.[6][7][8]
