Mayle ran for the seat held by Judge Steve Yarbrough on the Ohio Sixth District Court of Appeals in 2016.[1] She entered the race after Judge Jack R. Puffenberger withdrew following the primary election. Her candidacy was backed by the Republican Party. She faced Judge Gary G. Cook in the general election on November 8.
