Colorado Commits to Kids was the organization behind Amendment 66, previously known as Initiative 22, which sought to raise income taxes to 5% for those who make less than $75,000 per year and to 5.9% for those who make more than $75,000 per year. The estimated potential revenue from this tax increase was about $950,000,000.
Colorado Commits to Kids received $5,023,815 in donations. $2,010,520 of this money was spent to successfully run the petition campaign to get the initiative on the ballot and to foster approval among voters.
