A Colorado Retention Elections of Justices and Judges Amendment did not make the November 4, 2014, ballot in Colorado as an initiated constitutional amendment. The measure would have increased the number of "Yes" votes required for a justice or judge to be retained in office from a simple majority to a two-thirds majority starting with the November 4, 2014, election.[1][2]
The measure would have amended Section 25 of Article VI of the Colorado Constitution.[2]

Ballot title and submission clause
If the measure had appeared on the ballot, it would have read as:[1]
| “ | Shall there be an amendment to the Colorado constitution increasing the number of "Yes" votes required for a justice or judge to be retained in office from a simple majority to a two-thirds majority in the November 4, 2014, general election, and in every election thereafter?[3] | ” |

Path to the ballot
Supporters were required to gather 86,105 valid signatures by Monday, August 4 at 3:00 PM for the measure to appear on the ballot.
Clean Up the Courts ended its volunteer campaign for the 2014 ballot in favor of aiming at a 2016 ballot placement. According to Chris Forsyth,
| “ | [We've] formed a board and will start taking donations to help pay paid circulators to get these on the ballot in 2016. I anticipate fundraising to begin in the next couple of days. We hope to obtain signatures during 2015 when we are not competing with other political issues for attention and volunteers. If all goes as expected, The Honest Judge Amendment and The Two-Thirds Majority Amendment will be on the ballot in 2016.[3] | ” |
