Blake Harbin was raised in Georgia’s 6th district. He is a small business owner and his career experience includes working in financial services and sales. He has been affiliated with the nonprofit Alzheimer's Foundation of America, the Boy Scouts of America, Next Level Loan Officers, the Mortgage Bankers Association, and nonprofit hospital the Shepherd Center.

  • We are all tired of politics and politicians. Nothing ever seems to get done by our federal government that actually works and impacts our lives for the better. Especially at this moment, the majority of American’s believe our country is heading in the wrong direction. The problem with our government is when things are broken it fails to fix them.
  • I will oppose Critical Race Theory, prevent the IRS from spying on your banks, create more jobs in our district, support the completion of the border wall, fight for lower taxes, support more funding for our law enforcement, and renew the American dream.
  • I am an outsider, not a politician. A businessman that has created jobs for the last 25 years. It is time for a new day to begin, the start of a new era by the people, for the people. It is time for us to fight for what we believe in. A future that is ours.

Campaign website

Harbin's campaign website stated the following:

ISSUES

Protecting Your Livelihood

We need to unleash America’s economic engine. Historic inflation by the Biden Administration will cripple our ability to provide for our families. Basic economic policy throughout our country’s history shows lower taxes leads to economic growth. Raising taxes does not. America needs small businesses to succeed. We need to support employees that were disproportionately affected by government mandated shutdowns. The Biden Administration’s solution is to spend your money to fix problems it created. The fiscal irresponsibility is staggering and must be stopped. The spending is out of control and the deficit continues to soar. Also, Americans shouldn’t be forced to choose between getting a shot or going to work to provide for their families. America’s economic security comes from hard-working Georgian’s. The 6th district is home to the “Technology City of the South” with over 700 high-tech companies. Our economic policies need to protect our people and give them opportunities to provide for their families.

Fighting for Your Freedom in Education

The bedrock principle of our country is freedom. This includes the freedom to support your children in their schools. The freedom to have a voice in what they are taught and how they learn. Across America we have seen our country ripped apart by extremists that think they know what is best for our children. We have seen Biden’s Department of Justice demonize parents that speak out regarding their children’s education. We have had enough. Parents are fighting back against Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the hidden dangers that exist with indoctrinating our children and grandchildren. This includes liberals classifying our children as oppressors and victims. We need to teach our children how to think, not what to think. Blake will stand up to the dangerous agenda the liberals are trying to use to terrorize our children.

Safeguarding Our Citizens Against Crime

Protecting our families, and our loved ones is essential to building stronger communities. Under the Biden Administration crime has risen to an all-time high in major cities around the U.S. and it continues to spiral out-of-control. Right here in Georgia, the district of Buckhead has experienced such an unprecedented rate of crime that it is suing the state to secede in order to protect its residents. Crime cannot be tolerated under any circumstance. It destroys the fabric of our neighborhoods. It attacks our economy. It destroys our livelihoods. Blake will fight against efforts by Democrats to undermine our rule of law. He will support more funding for law enforcement including training and deterrence programs. He recognizes that our neighborhoods and our neighbors have the power to prevent crime.

Renewing the American Dream

We need to bring back American pride. We need to bring back American ingenuity. More than three quarters of our country believes the Biden Administration is leading us in the wrong direction. Biden has failed in every foreign policy initiative including Afghanistan, Iran and has even opened the door for China to buy our country. He has failed at every turn domestically creating historic inflation, jamming up our supply chain so our people do not have basic essentials on the shelf, and has dismantled our ability to be energy independent. Blake understands the importance of giving families a chance. Across Georgia he has worked with numerous families to fulfill the American dream of home ownership, giving them opportunities to build a better future.

It is time to bring back the American dream. It is time for Georgia to lead this country to greatness once again. We need to “Make it in America.” We need to bring back manufacturing in critical areas including pharmaceuticals, biotech, agriculture, and energy. We need to stop sending our microchips and other high-tech components to be made by other countries. Bringing back manufacturing to the U.S. is vital to protecting our national security. We will develop partnerships between the private sector and educational / research institutions. Rebuilding Georgia will ignite our efforts to restore America.

Securing Our Border

A record high 2 million illegal immigrants crossed the border during the Biden Administration in less one year. Here is why it matters. The number one responsibility of the U.S. government is to protect its citizens. Yet, illegal drugs are flooding the U.S. and harming our children. Every day 142 Americans die from opioids, and Georgia is among the top 11 states with the most opioid overdose deaths. Cartel and MS-13 gang members are illegally crossing the border and running sex-trafficking rings and other criminal enterprises. Known terrorists are infiltrating our cities and will undermine our national security. Allowing illegal immigrants to freely enter our country violates our laws and is a slap in the face to all those immigrants who worked hard for their right to be an American citizen. Blake will be the strong leader that protects our nation’s security and our people. Never again should we leave our borders unprotected.

Backing the Blue

Law and order are bedrock principles that protect us. Supporting our first responders and law enforcement communities are priorities we all need to get behind. We depend on them. We should not defund them. The selfless sacrifices they make are for our safety. They deserve to know that we have their backs. Blake will work to protect our neighborhoods, and make sure that our first responders have the resources they need to safely support our communities. He will ensure our law enforcement agencies are uncuffed and have full authority to do their jobs. Protecting our people is not a political issue. It is the right issue, and we should support all of the law enforcement members that protect us.

Election Integrity

Every vote counts. Every election must be free and fair. Our democracy depends on it. Voting is sacred for every American and we need to protect that right. We need to ensure that our elections are secure, and the integrity of our electoral process endures. If there is any hint of election improprieties it undermines the integrity of the results and calls into question the legitimacy of the process. No state knows this better than Georgia. The irregularities stemming from the Democrat’s actions from the 2020 elections is unprecedented. The damage that was inflicted by them must be stopped. It should never happen again in our state. We can establish more effective voter laws at the state level which is afforded to us by the U.S. Constitution. Also we can conduct regular audits of elections and reinforce voter protection initiatives. Protecting every vote safeguards our democracy.

Your Rights and Your 2A

The U.S. Constitution gives us all personal freedoms and liberties. The right to say what we think, the rights of the unborn, and the right to bear arms. As a constitutional conservative Blake will defend your 2nd Amendment rights “to keep and bear arms.” He will fight against socialism and the extremists that want to dismantle your rights and destroy the foundation of our democracy. He will always support freedom of speech and the ability for all of us to have a voice in our government. Even when our government and big tech wants to censor us. And he will aggressively protect the unborn and their right to live.

Supporting Our Veterans

A resilient America needs a strong military. The Biden Administrations’ failures have eroded morale within their ranks and embarrassed our country globally. The tragic loss of 13 of our service members was an unnecessary loss of life. Their blood is on Biden’s hands. It could have been prevented. It should have been stopped. We need to support our military and show them we care. The Veteran’s Administration is broken and needs to be fixed. Restoring top-rate mental health services and healthcare for our military community must be a priority. We need to protect those service-members that protect us.

SOLUTIONS

Six Solutions for Georgia’s 6th District

We are all tired of politics and politicians. Nothing ever seems to get done by our federal government that actually works and impacts our lives for the better. Especially at this moment, the majority of American’s believe our country is heading in the wrong direction. The problem with our government is when things are broken it fails to fix them.

Never before has it been more important to preserve what we believe in and to fight for what matters most. We will give others hope when they are knocked down, and help them back up.

Our communities have joined together because we know that government will not solve our problems. It will not lead us out of these hard times.

It is the heart of our people, Georgians like you, who have shown resilience that will turn the tide and overcome these challenges. We need to support the next generation of Georgians for our children and their children - those that are closest to us. We need to show them that by standing with each other we are stronger.

My plan for Georgians is simple. Fight and Fix. I will fight for your issues and your interests. We we will fix the problems that are impacting us. Here is what we will do:

  • One: We will oppose Critical Race Theory (CRT) and other issues in our schools that aim to indoctrinate rather than educate our children. Parents have a right and the responsibility to be involved in their children’s education.
  • Two: We will eliminate any provision that allows the IRS to spy on you and your bank accounts. I will work to stop any federal funding measures that hire more IRS spies.
  • Three: Securing our border means finishing the construction of the wall to keep out illegal immigrants that want to harm Georgians. We will support efforts to build the wall. We must prevent illegal drugs, stop human-trafficking, and enforce our country’s laws at the border.
  • Four: We will “Back the Blue” by supporting more funding for Georgia’s law enforcement so they have needed critical resources. We will empower them to uphold the rule of law and increase penalties against drug dealers and violent criminals.
  • Five: We will renew the American Dream. We will support efforts to bring back critical manufacturing to Georgia in pharmaceuticals, biotech, agriculture and microchips. We will provide tax incentives for Georgia companies to “Make It In America.”
  • Six: There is no more important job than to protect your livelihood. Ensuring that you are able to work to provide for your family is essential to everything else. I will fight for lower taxes because it is more income to you. We will revitalize underperforming areas and incentivize businesses to relocate throughout the 6th district to create jobs and growth opportunities. I will support initiatives to recruit workers for small businesses so they can expand.[3]

Candidate Connection

Blake Harbin completed Ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey in 2020. The survey questions appear in bold and are followed by Harbin's responses. Candidates are asked three required questions for this survey, but they may answer additional optional questions as well.

Expand all | Collapse all

Blake Harbin has been a job creator and entrepreneur for his entire professional life. He is the founder, President, and CEO of Houzzle Financial in Alpharetta, GA. He has helped thousands of families achieve their american dream of owning a home.

He has lived in the district since he was three years old and has seen it change and shift from solid red to blue. He could no longer stand idly stand by and have lifelong bureaucrats continue to dictate our lives. Blake and his wife Erin, have dedicated their lives to their community and want to continue to do so by representing the GA-6 in Washington.

  • I believe in representing the people of this district. For too long, career politicians have gone to Washington and forgotten the people they represent.
  • Social Security: I fear for those that rely on it as it is on the brink of collapse. I pledge to go to DC and ensure that the fund remains for all americans.
  • Economy: Washington claims to care about the deficit but their spending shows this is not the case. I will introduce a bill to investigate public spending and curtail unnecessary programs and taxes.

Blake is passionate about the current state of our healthcare policies, our second amendment rights, our economic affairs, and our education system.

There are a handful of qualities I possess that render me uniquely qualified to successfully hold office and represent the people of the 6th congressional district. I have faced adversity several times over the course of my life and have always come out on top of it. I simply persist using gumption and grit to keep at it -- whatever it is -- until I've mastered it. I've built my career upon foraging lifelong relationships. This has enabled me to become a successful negotiator who solves problems by crafting mutually beneficial terms to all parties. As a business owner, employer, and mentor, I've learned to empower people while still holding them accountable. And quite simply, I never take "No" for an answer. These are the principles I plan on taking to Washington with me to work across party lines to develop real solutions for the American public.

The core responsibility of any elected official is the representation of the people who elected them into office. This means listening to constituents and voting in favor of their best interests before any personal or political agenda. The only agenda elected representatives should concern themselves with is that of their constituents.

I grew up in an industrious, can-do family, and by the time I was seven, I already knew the feeling of a hard day's work. Having a strong work ethic is an important lesson I learned from a great man that I very much loved and respected, my grandfather. He owned and ran a successful asphalt paving company. There, I would spend my summers driving tractors and paving rollers, shoveling asphalt, and doing whatever it took to get the job done. This allowed me to grow up around entrepreneurship and the small business community. Being around business oriented individuals at such a young age, I soaked up lessons on business practices and how to treat people the right way, with respect.

During my teenage years, my stepfather, an immigrant from Afghanistan, tirelessly spent hours upon hours building his retail business. Before he opened the doors of his shop, I spent weekends at flea markets, attended community events, and even went door to door to build demand and market his watches and jewelry. This provided an incredible opportunity for me to build relationships with customers from all walks of life and learn about our cultural and/or socio-economic differences. These experiences further established my foundation for knowing how to treat people,
what hard work is, and how to pull my sleeves up in order to succeed. That foundational grit would prove to be instrumental and priceless throughout my life.

I'd be the Genie from Aladdin so I could snap my fingers and cure diseases and end poverty much faster than we can through legislation.

I do not believe it's beneficial for representatives to have previous experience in government or politics. I believe it's far more beneficial for our representatives to have led successful careers in the private sector. Career politicians have gotten us into the trouble we're in now with our national debt, crumbling infrastructure, and rapid depletion of the social security trust fund. It's now incumbent upon members of the business community to step in and solve these and other problems through practical financial management practices.

The three greatest challenges to the United States as a nation over the next decade are the national debt crisis, the rapid depletion of the Social Security trust fund, and the rising costs of healthcare for the average American citizen.

While speaking with constituents at a local GOP event, I met a retired gentleman and his wife who had moved back home to Georgia after living in California for 36 years. He told me that in 1984, he was attracted to California's booming economy, low taxes, and strong job market. As someone with a strong work ethic without any sense of entitlement, he had plenty of opportunities for success. But over time, lax liberal "values" rapidly began replacing conservative values and weakening strong communities through a softness towards crime. He told me -- and I've heard this from others who've escaped the West coast -- that being a Republican had become a bad word. Those advocating for fiscal responsibility and putting America first faced bullying and boycotting of Republican-owned businesses. Having had enough, he came home to North Fulton county. But he's concerned that Georgia could be on the cusp of taking a dive into the deep waters of liberalism like California. I found his experiences to be incredibly impactful and motivating as a candidate. It's a great thing that so many people moving to Georgia because of our booming economy! But it's a good thing as long as elected representatives continue to advocate for legislation that will continue to protect our Georgia values. I will always remember this man and his cautionary tale when I'm representing GA6 on Capitol Hill. Keeping his and our community safe and prosperous will always be my primary goal.
