Doug Loomis is the superintendent of the Amarillo Independent School District. Loomis began serving as the interim superintendent in October 2018 and was appointed full superintendent on March 27, 2019. Loomis' previous career experience includes working in the district as a physical education teacher, a principal, and the chief human resources officer.[1]
Past superintendents
- Dana West was the superintendent of the Amarillo Independent School District from 2015 to 2018. West's previous career experience included working as the district's executive director of student performance and as a principal in the Plainview Independent School District.[2]
