Alabama Judges Compensation Amendment (1982)

The Alabama Judges Compensation Amendment, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Alabama on November 2, 1982, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. It proposed that the salaries and expense allowances of state judges should be recommended by the Judicial Compensation Commission and approved or altered by the legislature. In addition, it stipulated that judicial salaries would not be reduced during a judge's term in office.[1]
