The Alabama Education Trust Fund Amendment, also known as Amendment 1, was on the ballot in Alabama on June 4, 2002, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure proposed that funds in the Education Trust Fund could not be prorated. It also sought to create the Education Trust Fund Rainy Day Account.[1]

The question on the ballot:

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama of 1901, to help protect the Education Trust Fund appropriations from proration; and to establish the Education Trust Fund Rainy Day Account within the Alabama Trust Fund. (Proposed by Act No. 2001-1066)[2][3]
