Alabama County Tax, Amendment 2 (1948)

The Alabama County Tax, Amendment 2, also known as Amendment 2, was on the ballot in Alabama on January 6, 1948, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment proposed to amend the constitution. The amendment proposed to authorize the DeKalb County to levy and collect a four mill tax on each dollar of taxable property for the purpose of acquiring, constructing, operating, equipping or maintaining County hospitals or other public hospitals, nonprofit hospitals and public health facilities. The said tax must be approved by a majority vote by the electors.[1]
