2014
Elections for the Massachusetts House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election was held on September 9, 2014, and a general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Alan Silvia was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election for the Massachusetts House of Representatives Seventh Bristol District.[5]
2012
Silvia won election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Seventh Bristol District. He defeated incumbent Kevin Aguiar in the September 6 Democratic primary. The vote tally was exceptionally close and eventually went to a recount. Despite some lingering questions from Aguiar's attorney, recount officials handed in results on September 14, 2013, declaring that Silvia had won by 26 votes.[6]He was unopposed in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7]
