The November 4, 2014, general election in Richland County School District One featured three seats up for election. Lone challenger Dwayne Smiling sought the at-large seat held by incumbent Susie Dibble. She did not file for re-election. District 1 incumbent Aaron Bishop and District 3 incumbent Beatrice King were both running unopposed.

Funding

Candidates were required to file a quarterly finance report with the South Carolina State Ethics Commission for the November general election by October 10, 2014. This report covered the period of July 1, 2014, through September 30, 2014. Candidates were also required to file a pre-election report no later than 15 days prior to the election. A final report is due after the campaign has closed. Candidates for local school boards may not accept more than $1,000 from individuals and $5,000 from political parties.[1]
