Introduction

Ladies and gentlemen, fellow New Mexicans, and esteemed guests,

Today, I stand before you to introduce a remarkable candidate who embodies the spirit of service, resilience, and community. Audrey Trujillo, a native New Mexican and a 25-year resident of Sandoval County, has stepped forward to represent us in the New Mexico Senate District 9. Let us delve into Audrey’s vision, values, and commitment to our great state.

1. A Strong Foundation Audrey Trujillo’s roots run deep in our New Mexican soil. As a small business owner, wife, and mother, she understands the challenges faced by everyday families. Her journey—from Corrales to the heart of our state’s political landscape—reflects her unwavering dedication to making a difference.

2. Conservative Activism and Advocacy Audrey is not just a candidate; she is a tireless advocate. Her commitment to conservative principles has led her to organize community events, raise awareness about detrimental bills, and testify against legislation that could harm our citizens and our way of life. Audrey’s voice echoes the concerns of everyday New Mexicans, and she is ready to amplify those voices in the Senate.

3. Priorities for Progress a. Education and Workforce Development Audrey recognizes that education is the cornerstone of progress. She will champion policies that ensure equitable funding for schools, support our educators, and prepare our students for the challenges they face.

4) 2BA, MA Graduate University of NM.
  • Priorities for Progress

    a. Education and Workforce Development

Audrey recognizes that education is the cornerstone of progress. She will champion policies that ensure equitable funding for schools, support our educators, and prepare our students for the challenges of the future. Vocational training, STEM education, and apprenticeships will be at the forefront of her agenda.
  • Audrey Trujillo’s candidacy is not about party lines; it’s about people. She seeks to bridge divides, listen to constituents, and create a New Mexico that thrives for generations to come.
  • Audrey understands the importance of accessible healthcare. She will work tirelessly to expand access, address the opioid crisis, and promote preventive measures. Healthy citizens contribute to a vibrant state, and Audrey is committed to their well-being.
Economic Prosperity
Our state’s economic well-being is Audrey’s priority. She will advocate for policies that promote local businesses, invest in infrastructure, and create a thriving workforce. Audrey believes that a strong economy benefits every New Mexican, from the bustling cities to the serene rural landscapes.
I look up to my mother and my late grandmother. Both are incredible women and taught me to persevere and always finish what I start. They also taught me to not be afraid of hard work and going after my goals.
I recommend reading the Constitution and the history of how and why our country needed to have it. I also recommend for spiritual understanding of government, the Holy Bible. Other books worth reading are, "Platos the Republic" andThe Prince (Machiavelli) [to learn that people not in power will do all they can to acquire it, and people in power will do all they can to keep it]. If you read all of the above works you will glean profound insight into most of what has driven the history of the western world.
Honesty, transparency and a willingness to listen to their constituents.
I am a natural leader and organizer. I don't start anything without finishing it. I also am very passionate about protecting the
underprivileged and vulnerable. Empathy for people along with being fiscally responsible are important strengths I have. I can work and empathize with almost anyone. Working on common goals and uniting people has always been my strength.
I believe an elected official should represent their constituents, not self-interests. They should review policies and procedures that work for the people not against them. An elected official should serve as their constituent's voice and vote with the majority of their constituent's consensus. It is also the responsibility of the elected official to uphold their oath of office to the NM and US Constitution and protect citizen rights. Elected individuals have the responsibility to listen to their constituents and represent their needs at the legislature through policies, bills and educated conversations and debates in the chambers.
I would like to continue to leave a legacy of strong of a strong New Mexican woman who loved her state and people so much, that she never gave up on representing them.
I remember I was 9 years old at the time in 1981 when President Ronald Reagan was shot.
My first job was at a fast-food restaurant. It was my Freshman year in high school and it only lasted over the summer.
I struggle not to get involved with issues that effect our most innocent, the seniors, the fisabled and our children.
The ideal relationship between a governor and the state legislature is a delicate balance that involves collaboration, negotiation, and mutual respect. The governor and legislators should engage in regular dialogue to discuss policy priorities, legislative proposals, and state affairs. Transparency is crucial. The governor should keep legislators informed about executive decisions, budgetary matters, and administrative actions. While the governor and legislature may belong to different political parties, they should align on common goals for the state. These goals could include economic growth, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public safety.
These challenges we face include inflation, economic growth, education, healthcare, infrastructure, and public safety.
I do believe it is beneficial for state legislatures to have previous experience in government as well as strong community involvement through volunteer work.
Yes, building relationships with other legislators is highly beneficial. Here are some reasons why:

Collaboration and Cooperation: When legislators establish relationships, they can work together more effectively. Cooperation across party lines can lead to better policy outcomes for the public.
Information Sharing: Relationships allow legislators to share information, insights, and expertise. This exchange helps them make informed decisions and address complex issues.
Negotiation and Compromise: Strong relationships facilitate negotiation and compromise. Legislators who trust each other are more likely to find common ground and reach consensus.
Legislative Productivity: Building relationships enhances legislative productivity. It enables legislators to pass bills, amend existing laws, and address constituents’ needs efficiently.
Coalitions and Alliances: Forming alliances with other legislators can amplify their influence. Coalitions can advocate for shared goals and amplify their collective impact.

In summary, fostering relationships among legislators promotes effective governance, better policy outcomes, and a more functional legislative process.
I am willing to serve my state and country in any capacity. Right now I am interested in representing our Senate District 9.
One of the heartfelt stories I heard was about a father in Santa Fe losing their young child to a drug overdose. This story was very touching and as a parent, I could only imagine the hurt and loss.
Yes absolutely. There should always be a check and balance within government.
I would like to introduce a bill that protects our vulnerable children, disabled, and seniors from predators.
LUCA, Latinos Uniting Conservative Action, Republican National Association, NRA, Right For Life Org. America First Coalition,
One of my passions is our kids so I would want to be on the Senate Education Committee. Since my district is rural, I would like to be on the Senate Indian, Rural, and Cultural Affairs Committee as well. I care about businesses, and would like to be on Senate Tax, Business, and Transportation Committee.
There's also the Senate Judiciary Committee that I would be interested in which is the last committee every bill has to go through before the floor.
I believe Government should be transparent and fiscally accountable to the taxpayers.

Campaign website

Mendonca-Trujillo's campaign website stated the following:

Fair Elections

Audrey cares about making sure the best possible measures are in place to ensure a fair election experience for every legally registered voter involved. Audrey will make sure all security details and arrangements are made so voters can focus on voting for their candidates of choice. Audrey will make every effort to understand the exact changes and needs of our county clerks in every district, so that voting is fun and enjoyable. It is a fundamental right and privilege to vote for our elected officials in this country. It is the job of the Secretary of State to ensure that right is protected.

Secure Elections

The office of the NM Secretary of State is the official record keeper of New Mexico. New Mexico Rules and Constitution will be implemented to insure fair, legal, and secure elections. Every legal vote will be counted and every secure measure will be put in place to protect voter rights and integrity of the process.

Free Elections

Every eligible voter should be able to vote and never be burden of any costs for this right. If there is a financial need in the future to secure an identification card to vote, Audrey Trujillo will ensure that you will be able to have access. The Department of Motor Vehicles will be consulted on the best way that we can implement a secure measure without burdening anyone who financially cannot secure an ID.

Voter Integrity

Over 70% of Americans support voter integrity laws. Guess who doesn't support? The answer is obvious, those who do not want to lose power and want to undermine the integrity of the electoral process. It's all about political power at the expense of our citizens. Currently we see the weaponization of the voter laws and rules during the Covid-19 pandemic. Using all tactics and emergency orders, our current administration secured their elections for at least a 100 years. The current administration has taken this straight out of the Jim Crow Laws. Currently roughly $52 million was spent on software and voter counting machines, more money spent than way more populated states. When elected, Audrey will make sure that those machines are not used to manipulate another election. She will also push for changes in the rules to limit absentee voting to only disabled, elderly, military and voters who are temporarily out of the state on business. Audrey is also dedicated to cut the bureaucratic tape that makes it difficult to clean up voter rolls. Each county clerk will be given the tools necessary to protect their voter precincts from fraud and confusion. As your Secretary of State, Audrey will be dedicated to cutting all the bureaucratic tape that limits transparency in our elections. Our votes are sacred and need to be held to the highest standards.[2]
