|- We need to be more aggressive in managing our water resources, investing in clean, renewable energy, and creating both green jobs and a sustainable environment. Phoenix continues to rank as one of the worst cities for air quality, and our more rural communities are not much better. There is much we can accomplish at the state level to improve the air and water quality and the quality of life for everyone. As a scientist I will work tirelessly on legislation to protect our environment for generations to come.
- Equal access to quality, fully-funded education is essential for all Arizona children, as are educational opportunities outside of traditional college, so that students stay engaged in learning past the 12th grade. I see an Arizona where young people can pursue both college and alternative career preparation programs, including apprenticeships that will help create a skilled workforce and one that's ready for the future. I will work to make sure that our education gets the funding that is long overdue.
- Every eligible voter has the right to have their voice heard in free and fair elections, regardless of political party. Efforts to prevent citizens from voting must be uncovered and stopped, and I will work to stop these attacks on our voting rights once in office. We must protect the right to accessible voting opportunities for every eligible voter, including providing multilingual resources, expanding polling hours and locations, keeping mail-in voting, and provide protection for in-person voting.
I am also passionate about protecting our veterans, even more so as a veteran myself. We must maintain and expand services and programs for veterans here in Arizona. They deserve expanded access to quality healthcare, affordable housing, and civilian employment. Veterans are confronted with a difficult transition back into civilian life and they suffer an unacceptable amount of homelessness and high suicide rates. This must change.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
