My name is Anthony Wozniak, and I have been a life long resident of Wayne County. I was born in Dearborn, moved to Livonia when I was five and attended Livonia Public Schools (LPS). I went on to Schoolcraft Community College to obtain an Associates Degree in Liberal Arts. After that, I went to Eastern Michigan University where I earned two Bachelors Degrees in Economics and Mathematics. I am currently enrolled in Wayne State University where I am pursuing a Masters Degree in Business Administration. I am running for this position because I want to see Wayne County succeed. I am a man of history, and I know the rich history that Wayne County possesses (especially Detroit) and I want us to return to that rich history. Detroit was once the place to be and even had a larger population that Paris in its heyday. The problem that we posses is that we have elected officials who have put their needs ahead of the county. Wayne County has been ripe with corruption for a very long time, and the only way to end the corruption is to start electing officials who love the county, and want the county to succeed and prosper. Because when Wayne County prospers, the whole state of Michigan prospers.
  • Trust; I intend on bring trust back to government. People need to be able to trust their officials, and trust that they are doing the right things for the county.
  • Truth; In order to bring trust back, we need to be truthful. If our policies are bad, we need to change them, if things are working well, we need to expand on those. If you have to lie about your policies, you need better policies
  • Transparency; This is the most important part. I intend to be the most transparent treasurer in history. The people of Wayne County deserve to know how their tax dollars are being spent. And without transparency, how can we expect the people to trust us.
I am very passionate about power to the people. I think that a lot of officials like to call themselves "leaders" but in reality, they are the servants of the people. There is a reason why the Constitution starts off with "We the People" and not "We the Government". It also goes without saying that I am very passionate about ending corruption. People put their trust in those that they elect to hold offices. We need to be held to a higher standard because people vote for us to be in these positions of power.
The qualities that this office posses is that it is the main source of revenue for the county. The office of the treasure is tasked with collecting and holding the taxes collected for the county.
I look up to my parents. They raised me right, taught me right from wrong, and shaped me into the person that I am today. They are the examples that I still continue to look up to to this day. My parents have always done the right thing, they have never hurt anyone nor stole from anyone. My father was the director of Human Resources for the city of Dearborn. He was in a position of power and he never abused that power, never took advantage of his position. And that is who I will be if the people of Wayne County elect me as the Treasurer.
That I was able to end the corruption in the Treasurers office
The first historical event that happened in my lifetime was September 11th 2001. That was one day before my 11th birthday
My first job was for my church. I was a member of the Maintenance Department. After I graduated high school, the Youth Minister recommended me to fill the open position after the previous person had quit. I held that position from 2009 to 2016. I was able to work the night shift which allowed me to go to college in the morning/afternoon.
Luke Skywalker, or any Jedi. Star Wars is one of my favorite movies. Think about it, the Jedi were extremely powerful, but they never wanted to rule, they never wanted to take over the galaxy. They formed a Republic.
I hope - Gabby Barrett and Charlie Puth
The skills that I possess that would be most helpful for this office is the ability to learn tasks quickly. I also have a high attention to detail which is critical for a job like this. When you are dealing with finance, it is very important to be very accurate in your work.
I certainly believe it does help to have experience, and I do admit that I do not have any experience, but through my whole life I have worked at jobs that I didn't have any prior experience for and I was able to learn and excel at the projects that my superiors put in front of me
