Walter Chadwick Noyes (1865-1926) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He joined the court in 1907 after an appointment from Theodore Roosevelt. At the time of appointment, Noyes was a Judge for the Court of Common Pleas in New London County, Connecticut. He resigned on July 1, 1913 to return to private practice. He passed away on June 12, 1926.[1]

Judicial career

Second Circuit

He received a recess appointment from President Theodore Roosevelt on September 18, 1907 and was nominated on December 3rd of that year. He filled the seat vacated by William Kneeland Townsend. He was confirmed by the Senate on December 10th, and received commission December 18th. He resigned on July 1, 1913. He was succeeded to the post by Henry Wade Rogers.[1]
