Board of Education members are charged with serving the educational needs and interests of Charles County.

I want to help ensure an excellent environment for our students - one in which each student can thrive and achieve his or her full potential, because these students are OUR future, and it is OUR responsibility to provide them with the best tools possible for success--during their school years, and beyond.

To accomplish this, I hope to work with the Superintendent and the Charles County Public Schools, students, parents, businesses, and the community to support initiatives and policies that address the following:

Our Students

  • Providing a broad range of extra-curricular and learning activities.

  • Ensuring that all students are equipped to meet their full potential, regardless of ability.

Internal Operations

  • Ensuring our students and staff are safe and secure in our schools.
  • Identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and addressing them.
  • Exercising fiscal responsibility in budget review and decision-making.

Internal Stakeholders

  • Working with the EACC to be sure teacher and staff viewpoint is represented.
  • Encouraging and supporting parent involvement and ownership in their child's education.
  • Helping to retain and attract great teachers.

External Stakeholders

  • Encouraging and organizing community support.
  • Encouraging business partnerships with schools.
  • Encouraging community input and feedback.
  • Ensuring taxpayers get the most out of their education tax dollars.
