2016

The following issues were listed on Moss' campaign website. For a full list of campaign themes, click here.

  • Employment: Michigan families need an economy that works for them. Through a mix of smart investments in job training and infrastructure, and a long-overdue increase to the minimum wage, a Moss administration will ensure our economy is built to grow throughout the 21st century and provide the jobs Michigan families of the 14th District need.
  • Education: Michigan’s schools face big challenges and it's up to us to address them and set all of our children up for success. Our state's achievement gap is one of the worst in the nation; too many of our students are trapped in under-performing schools; and besides our educators not being allowed to teach based on the needs of their students, they are not even being paid adequately and timely. Vanessa Moss' education plan makes the necessary changes to correct what has troubled our educators most.
  • Safety: Michigan's strategy of mass incarceration has failed to make us safe. It has only created lifetime criminals by reinforcing the cradle-to-prison pipeline. It is time for a new approach toward public safety. Instead of throwing money at crime's consequences, we must sharpen our focus on prevention.
