United States District Court for the Eastern District of Illinois
The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Illinois was dissolved in 1978 by 92 Stat. 883 to make room for the larger Central District of Illinois. Decisions of the court were appealed to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals based in downtown Chicago at the Everett M. Dirksen Federal Courthouse and Building.[1]
