Stine was appointed by Governor Dave Heineman in September 2011 to fill the vacancy left after the retirement of Michael P. Cavel.[1][2]

Education
Stine received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State College and his law degree from the University of South Dakota School of Law.[1]
Career
Prior to joining the court, Stine was an attorney in private practice. He also spent six years as chief of the Civil Litigation Bureau for the Nebraska Department of Justice.[1]
