Elections
2012
Nance ran for Texas Railroad Commission in 2012. He lost to Vivekananda Wall for the Libertarian nomination, which was determined at the party's state convention on June 9.[1]
Beryl Burgess, Warren Chisum, Christi Craddick, Joe Cotten, Roland Sledge, and Becky Berger sought the Republican nomination. Since no candidate won more than 50 percent of the vote, the top two vote-getters—Chisum and Craddick—will face off in a runoff election on July 31.[2]
Dale Henry ran as a Democrat, and Chris Kennedy ran as a Green Party candidate. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.
Incumbent Buddy Garcia (R) was appointed to serve in the seat until the general election, but he did not run for election.[3]
