Teresa K. Righter
Teresa K. Righter was a resident judge of the Fifth Circuit Court in Illinois. She was first elected as a circuit judge in 2004 and retired from the bench on October 31, 2017.[1]
Prior to joining the circuit court, Righter served as an associate judge for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. She was appointed to that position in 1997.[1]
Biography
Righter earned a B.A. from Western Illinois University and a J.D. from the University of Illinois.[2]

Judges of the Illinois Circuit Court stand for retention after their first full term. To be retained, a judge must receive at least 60 percent of the vote.[3][4] Teresa K. Righter was retained in the Illinois Fifth Circuit Court, Teresa Righter Retention Election with 81.15 percent of the vote.
