Three of the five seats on the Kenton County School District Board of Education were up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. In the race for District 1, incumbent Karen Collins defeated challengers Terrie Meister and Bill Schneider. District 2 incumbent Carl Wicklund and District 5 incumbent Carla Egan ran unopposed and won re-election to their respective seats.[1]

Funding
Meister reported no contributions or expenditures to the Kentucky Registry of Election Finance as of October 25, 2016.[2]

Kenton County Public Schools is located in northern Kentucky in Kenton County. The county seats are Covington and Independence. Kenton County was home to 165,012 residents in 2015, according to the United States Census Bureau.[4] The district was the fourth-largest school district in the state in the 2013–2014 school year and served 14,698 students.[5]
