Biography
Trinidad Navarro lives in Bear, Delaware. He earned an A.A. degree in criminal justice from Delaware Technical and Community College and a B.A. degree from Wilmington University. Navarro's career experience includes working as a licensed insurance agent, New Castle County Police Department patrol officer and public relations office worker, and county sheriff. He volunteered as a member of the boards of the Canal Little League, Colonial Education Foundation, and Police Athletic League.[1]

2016
Navarro filed to run as a Democratic candidate for Delaware insurance commissioner in 2016. He announced his candidacy on June 25, 2015, at The Clarion The Belle hotel in New Castle, Del. Before his announcement, he had already traveled around the state seeking support for a potential campaign.[3][4] Navarro competed with incumbent Karen Weldin Stewart in the Democratic primary on September 13, 2016.[3][4] He won the Democratic nomination and competed with Republican Jeff Cragg, who won his party's primary election, in the November 8 general election.

2014
Navarro was re-elected as New Castle County sheriff, winning in a landslide with 89 percent of the vote against a Libertarian opponent.[4]
2010
Navarro defeated longtime Sheriff Mike Walsh in the September 2010 Democratic primary for New Castle County sheriff. He went on to win the November general election.[4]
