Tregenza Roach (Democratic Party) is the Lieutenant Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He assumed office on January 7, 2019. His current term ends on January 4, 2027.
Roach (Democratic Party) ran for re-election for Lieutenant Governor of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Tregenza Roach graduated from Charlotte Amalie High School. He earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He earned a J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law. Roach's career experience includes working as a reporter and as a news editor with the Virgin Islands Daily News, as a law clerk with United States and U.S. Virgin Islands government offices, as a lawyer with the Territorial Court’s Civil and Family divisions, and as an associate attorney with Bornn Bornn Handy and Rashid. He has been a member of the Virgin Islands Bar Association since 1991.[1]
Roach has served as legal counsel to the Virgin Islands commissioner of education, as an executive director with the board of education, as a faculty member with the University of the Virgin Islands, and as a member with the Education Committee of the National Conference of State Legislatures. He has served as a board member with the Disability Rights Center and with the mental health advocacy group Clear Blue Sky, Inc. He has served as a chairman with the V.I. Humanities Council. He served as a volunteer reader and speaker with public and private schools.[1]
