Tom Buford
Tom Buford (Republican Party) was a member of the Kentucky State Senate, representing District 22. He assumed office in 1991. He left office on July 6, 2021.
Buford (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Kentucky State Senate to represent District 22. He won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Buford served as Senate Republican whip from 1991 to 1992.
Buford died on July 6, 2021.[1]
Biography
Buford earned his B.S. from the University of Kentucky in 1971. His professional experience has included working as president of Buford Property Management Company, executive vice president for Central Bank and Kentucky Bank, contractor/builder for Buford Construction, and in property management.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was January 28, 2014. Incumbent Tom Buford ran unopposed in the Republican primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[2][3][4]

Buford won re-election to the 22nd District Seat in the Kentucky State Senate with no opposition. Buford received 32,080 votes.[5]
In the May 18th primary election, Buford defeated Republican primary opponent Chad Crouch by a margin of 6,236 to 5,542.[6]

On November 7, 2006, Buford was re-elected to the 22nd District Seat in the Kentucky State Senate. He had no opposition.[7] Buford raised $68,448 for his campaign.[8]
