Susan G. Braden is a federal judge on senior status of the United States Court of Federal Claims. She joined the court in 2003 after being nominated by President George W. Bush.[1] She served as chief judge of the court from March 13, 2017, to July 12, 2018.[2] She assumed senior status on July 13, 2018.

Education

Braden earned her B.A. and J.D. at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1970 and 1973 respectively.[1]

Professional career

Braden worked in private practice for her entire career prior to her service on the bench.[1]

Judicial career

Federal Claims

Braden was nominated to the United States Court of Federal Claims by President George W. Bush on July 14, 2003. Braden was confirmed by the U.S. Senate and invested on October 24, 2003, immediately beginning her duty.[1] She assumed senior status on July 13, 2018. She served as chief judge of the court from March 13, 2017, to July 12, 2018.[2]
