Steve Bach is the former mayor of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served from 2011 to 2015.

Bach was the first Colorado Springs Mayor to hold the position under the city's current strong mayor form of government. The city had previously used a council-manager form of local government until 2010, when voters approved a charter amendment to change their government to a strong mayor system.[1]

Bach holds a B.S. in business administration and marketing from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. His professional experience includes working as a real estate broker.

Bach served in the United States Army from 1964 to 1966. He was honorably discharged in 1966 and received the Army Commendation medal for his service.[1]

Elections

2011

In the April 5, 2011 general election, Bach received approximately 33 percent of the vote, while one of his opponents, Richard Skorman, received over 35%. Bach and Skorman then faced off in a runoff election held on May 17, 2011. In the runoff, Bach defeated Skorman 57 percent to 43 percent.
