Rhode Island Question 2, Higher Education Facilities Bonds (1998)
Rhode Island Question 2, also known as Higher Education Facilities Bonds, was on the November 3, 1998 election ballot in Rhode Island. It passed, with 67.7% of voters in favor.
Text of measure
The language that appeared on the ballot said:
- "Approval of this question will authorize the State of Rhode Island to issue its general obligation bonds, refunding bonds and temporary notes in an amount not to exceed $20,990,000 for higher education purposes. The funds will be used for the rehabilitation of existing facilities at the University of Rhode Island ($10,040,000), the renovation of buildings on the East Campus and the existing Campus of Rhode Island College ($4,300,000), and the construction and equipping of an addition to the Providence Campus of the Community College of Rhode Island ($6,650,000)."
