Campaign themes

2016

Nelson's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[2]

  • Jobs and our Economy
  • Education and our Schools
  • Housing Market and our Homes.

As a mortgage broker, I help people get into their homes, while the opposition is making it impossible for people to stay in their homes.

I will always fight for less government, less taxes, less regulations and more freedom, more opportunity and more liberty.

What are the most pressing problems facing our state and how do I plan to address them?

  • Out of Control Budget and Mounting Deficit
  • Ever Increasing Taxes and Fees.
  • Unemployment and the Housing Market

I would address these problems by voting for budget cuts and demanding a “real” balance budget. I would vote against increasing future taxes that hurt families and I would move government out of the way of small business so jobs can be created. The Free Market only needs to be unobstructed to succeed.

I would specifically grow the Colorado economy by promoting our energy capabilities, reducing prohibitive taxes and working with small business. Reducing taxes creates jobs and attracts more businesses to Colorado. Our energy potential is immense and needs to be cultivated safely.[3]
