Paul Davis (Connecticut state representative)
Paul Davis is a former Democratic member of the Connecticut House of Representatives, representing District 117 from 2005 to 2015.
Biography
Davis' professional experience includes working as a teacher in West Haven from 1968-2002.
He is the former president of the Amity Coaches Association, a former member of the Connecticut High School Coaches Association Executive Committee, and is chair of the Connecticut High School Girls Swimming Committee.[1]

Elections
2014
Elections for the Connecticut House of Representatives consisted of a primary election on August 12, 2014, and a general election on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 10, 2014. Incumbent Paul Davis was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Charles J. Ferraro was unopposed in the Republican primary. Ferraro defeated Davis in the general election.[2][3]
Note: Ferraro received votes as a Republican candidate and as an independent candidate. His votes were added together, giving him a total of 4,281 votes and winning him the seat.

Davis ran for re-election to the 117th District seat in 2010. He defeated Peggy Rogers (R) in the November 2 general election.

2008
On November 4, 2008, Davis won re-election to the Connecticut House of Representatives from Connecticut's 117th District, defeating Stephanie Williams (R). Davis received 6,621 votes in the election while Williams received 5,278 votes.[7] Davis raised $30,860 for his campaign; Williams raised $30,187.[8]

Yankee Institute's Voter Guide

The Yankee Institute, a pro-market think tank, releases its Voter Guide after each two-year legislative term. Each member of the Connecticut General Assembly receives a score from 0 to 10 based on how he or she voted in ten key votes. The Institute selects key votes which "reveal the differences between those legislators that would harness the power of individual liberty and the market to improve lives, and those that prefer a centrally-planned approach." A legislator with a 10 voted in agreement with the Yankee Institute on all 10 votes, while a legislator with a 0 voted against the Yankee Institute's views or was absent for all 10 votes.[9]
2012
Davis received a score of 2 on the Yankee Institute's Voter Guide for 2011-12, tied for the 55th highest score among the 152 scored members of the Connecticut House of Representatives. This score was 1 lower than his score of 3 for the 2009-10 term.[9]
