Biography
Serpa earned her B.Ed. from Mount Saint Joseph College and her M.Ed. from Providence College. Her professional experience includes working as a high school improvement liaison for Johnson and Wales University and as a teacher.[1]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 25, 2014. Incumbent Patricia Serpa was unopposed in the Democratic primary and was unchallenged in the general election.[5][6][7]

Serpa won re-election in the 2012 election for Rhode Island House of Representatives District 27. Serpa was unopposed in the September 11 Democratic primary and defeated Kyle Pendola (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8][9][10]
2010
Serpa won re-election to the 27th District seat in 2010. She was unopposed in the September 14 Democratic primary and defeated Republican Mark Fleury and independent Thomas Jones in the general election on November 2, 2010.[11][12]

In 2008, Serpa was elected to the Rhode Island House District 27. Serpa (D) finished with 3,185 votes and was followed by Ericka Atwell (R) with 2,357 votes and David Michael (I) with 448 votes.[13] Serpa raised $16,820 for her campaign fund.[14]
