Ballotpedia:Trial Courts

The Nebraska District Courts are the 12 judicial districts covering Nebraska's 93 counties.

Jurisdiction

Nebraska District Courts are courts with original jurisdiction "in all felony cases, equity cases, domestic relations cases, and civil cases where the amount in controversy involves more than $51,000". The District Courts also have appellate jurisdiction over some cases from the Nebraska County Courts and for appeals from administrative agencies.[1]

Decisions of the District Courts may be appealed to the Nebraska Court of Appeals and/or the Nebraska Supreme Court.[1]
